IV
Predominant
Coastal Change Factors
- Rise and fall of lake level, with daily wind driven, seasonal, and
inter-annual variations.
- Beach, dune, sandbar, shoal and spit erosion or depositional expansion,
caused by prevailing daily and more rare, but high energy, wave and wind
patterns.
- Wetland and dune vegetative succession and collapse or dieback
events.
- Seasonal plant growth patterns and consequent dominance, seen in
the aerial photographic images (i.e. tall grasses obscuring the appearance
of low scrub growth late in the season).
- Human intervention,
with the construction, dredging, landfill or mining.
